Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to build the website?
The timescale largely depends upon the client's requirements. Once a
client has furnished us with the text/images and other information
we need, we can usually have a few pages up and running within 24
hours.
I would like Web-Spinners to design my site, what happens now?
If you would like to
use our services all you need to do is inform us of the domain name you have chosen and send us a basic
rundown of your requirements. We will then purchase the domain in your name, and then based on your guidance,
design your initial web page.
How much will it cost?
Costs are varied depending on
your specifications. Our prices start at £55.00 for a simple one page site with a heading logo and maybe one or
two images and some text. Extra pages (such as a Contact Form page) will then be £20.00 each. If you choose a 4 or 5 page
site from the outset, then our prices start at only £95.00 (Template limitations apply to these budget packages). If you
require a shopping cart system or some form of content management (such as a forum or blog) then we will need a more detailed
discussion.
What happens after I have contacted you?
All we need initially
is a brief outline of your requirements (maybe a web address of the kind of site or themes you would like. We can then
ask further questions and give you an idea of timescale/prices etc. and any suggestions we have.
What is ftp?
FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
is a way of transferring web pages and files from your local PC to ther web server where your website is hosted. If you
would like to be able to do this yourself then we can give the passwords and software you need (and free instructions).
What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?
All web pages should
be 'optimised' so that they appear in search engines. A properly optimised site will achieve higher rankings in
search engines like Google. The process includes 'meta tags' which are coded in the 'Head' section of the webpage
where keywords and page descriptions are inserted for the information needed by automatic 'Robots' and 'Spiders'
that visit periodically. More important though, are keywords and phrases used in the content of the page, and also
links to and from other sites.
Why are your terms so cheap when many firms charge enormous fees for similar work?
We promise you there is no
catch or any hidden fees. We are a small family business working from home and therefore have no overheads or large
wage bills to pay. Also we are affiliated with an excellent hosting service.
